We are Relational.

As we’ll learn in the next section Relationships are incredibly important for a number of different reasons. One of the very important reason we are in relationships is because they help us navigate our emotions. The people we are around and emotionally close to can influence how our loud or quiet our emotions are, how intense or subtle our emotional responses are, and how we cope with our emotions.
