IN THIS LESSON

Empathy Matters.

When most people learn about Empathy as children, they learn that Empathy is “putting yourself in someone else’s shoes”. To that we say, not no! There is so much more to empathy than imagining yourself in another person’s situation. And, potentially controversial, centering yourself in the narrative of another is not the look we are going for. True empathy centers the story of the other person. It goes beyond what we might feel if we were in the same situation. Empathy is joining with the person we are in dialogue with, letting our ego take a backseat.
